Project Management
Encompassing the overall services that PrintFish provides, complete project management starts with an initial meeting with the client or creative team, and continues through every phase of the project. Specifications are written, the correct vendor(s) to bid the project with are determined, a budget and schedule are developed... No detail is overlooked on the path to a successful completed project.
Spec Writing
The specifications for any project are the key to successful project management. Working directly with the creative team, we can recommend alternative production methods, papers, and ideas that will keep the project on track. Once the basics are agreed upon, writing vendor friendly specifications is our specialty, to ensure quick, accurate pricing from competing vendors.
Vendor Relations
With over 12 years in the industry, PrintFish has developed excellent longstanding relationships with a wide variety of vendors. Finding the right vendor to partner with to produce a project is a valuable tool that we offer. Of course, many of our clients have their own existing relationships with vendors, and we are always ready, willing and able to work with new vendors.
Scheduling
Developing a project schedule helps determine WHO needs to do WHAT, and WHEN. PrintFish can untangle these lines of communication by writing a detailed project schedule as soon as the scope of the project has been determined and approved. This becomes the game plan for the project so everyone's roles and responsibilities have been clearly defined.
Estimating
Estimating an entire project calls for an understanding of the "Big Picture." PrintFish can help determine the parameters of a project and the costs associated with them. From determining what level of expertise is necessary, to where it find it, we can help. Our clients may need only printing numbers for their brochure or an entire website written, researched, designed, and programmed. Determining who and what is necessary to produce the project is what PrintFish is known for.
Bid Sourcing
Much like estimating, we can step in and assist — quickly and effectively — in finding the right people to bid on your project. PrintFish's vast network of vendors, designers, and programmers can quickly cut through the sea of service providers in the creative market.
Process/Software Consultation
Every studio, in-house department or individual designer has their own "system" for processing work, but sometimes everyone can use a little outside help. That's where PrintFish can step in, and evaluate how your system works, where it can be made more efficient or when you should be using a database to track projects.
Print Buying
We need our brochure printed by Friday! Who is going to print it? How much is it going to cost? Can we afford a 5th color? When you don't have the time, expertise or resources to answer these questions on your own, you need the print buying experience of PrintFish to sort out any and all of these issues. We can offer our expertise and advice to quickly facilitate your project through completion.
